The Daily Nole — Jan. 11, 2019: FSU Track Teams Begin in Top 5

Lead Story

Big things are expected of Florida State track and field teams for the indoor seasons as both the men’s and women’s teams will begin the year ranked in the top 3.

The FSU women will begin No. 2 behind only Arkansas. Ka’Tia Seymour, Rougui Sow, Cortney Jones and Elenora Omoregie are the names to watch for the Seminoles.

The FSU men begin the year ranked third behind Texas Tech and Florida. Andre Ewers, a senior sprinter, was previously named to the the Bowerman Preseason Watch List.

FSU claimed both the men’s and women’s ACC titles last year. FSU opens the indoor season on Friday at Clemson in the Orange and Purple Elite.

Between the Lines

FSU men’s tennis notched shutout wins over Mercer and Georgia Southern to open the season on Thursday. FSU swimming and diving defeated Incarnate World.

On the Agenda

FSU track and field will be at Clemson for the Orange and Purple Elite on Friday. FSU diving faces Miami and Alabama. FSU women’s tennis opens the season against Florida Atlantic and Mercer.

FSU soccer’s Kaycie Tillman was drafted No. 36 overall by the NC Courage in the fourth round of the 2019 NWSL College Draft.

FSU running back Amir Rasul has reportedly entered his name into the transfer portal.

FSU linebacker Zaquandre White was reportedly suspended for academic reasons.
