It’s Sunday, Florida State fans. As you finish up a long weekend of holiday shopping, time with the family or just some relaxation, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Entering Saturday’s night contest with Connecticut, Florida State senior guard Terance Mann needed just 11 points to hit 1,000 for his career as a Seminole.

In a 79-71 victory over the Huskies, Mann led the Seminoles with 20 points on 7-for-13 shooting to go with nine rebounds. With the big night, Mann became the 47th men’s player to hit the 1,000-point mark in FSU history. Mann tied Tom McLaughlin for 44th in program history when it comes to points.

Mann entered the night averaging better than 11 points per game, but had been held below double-digits in four straight games, including a season-low three points in Monday’s win over Troy. Mann’s memorable night came while wearing two different jersey numbers as he switched from the traditional No. 14 to No. 41 in the second half after his jersey tore.

Between the Lines

FSU basketball’s 79-71 victory over Connecticut in the Never Forget Tribute Classic was the only scheduled FSU athletic event for Saturday.

On the Agenda

FSU women’s hoops will be at St. John’s on Sunday. The contest begins at 2 p.m. EST and airs on ESPN3.

News and Notes

Contrary to what sources told The Daily Nole, FSU is reportedly a major player to land Houston offensive coordinator Kendal Briles.
