The Daily Nole — Nov. 28, 2018: Four FSU Soccer Players Make All-Region Teams

Happy hump day, Florida State fans. As your day goes along, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Four Florida State soccer players were named to All-Atlantic Regional team by the United Soccer Coaches, which included three first-team selections.

Those first-team selections were freshman midfielder Yujie Zhao, the ACC Freshman of the Year, junior forward and leading scorer Deyna Castellanos and senior defender Natalia Kuikka. Freshman midfielder Jaelin Howell was named a third-team selection.

Only North Carolina had as many players on the first team in the region as FSU. The Seminoles will face Stanford in the College Cup on Friday.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Tuesday.

On the Agenda

FSU basketball hosts Purdue in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Wednesday night. The contest begins at 9 p.m. EST and airs on ESPN2.

News and Notes

FSU men’s golf’s Robert Duck was named one of the assistant coaches for the International Team at the 2019 Arnold Palmer Cup.

FSU used a late basket by Trent Forrest to defeat Purdue in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Wednesday night in Tallahassee, 73-72.
