It’s Thursday, Florida State fans. As your day and week wind down, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Florida State head coach Willie Taggart failed, according to a piece from CBS Sports.

In a piece grading jobs of first-year head coaches, Taggart received the only F. Under Taggart this past season, FSU finished 5-7 and missed a bowl for the first time since 1981.

Of the 20 coaches graded, Taggart didn’t seem to get the fairest of shakes as FSU’s regular season win total dropped by just one despite a tougher schedule. UCLA’s Chip Kelly was given a C and Arkansas’ Chad Morris got a D- despite those two schools’ win totals dropping by three and two wins, respectively.

Between the Lines

FSU basketball defeated Purdue in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Wednesday night, 73-72.

On the Agenda
