The Daily Nole — Sept. 17, 2018: FSU Volleyball Wraps Up Non-Conference with Loss at Auburn

Lead Story

A daunting non-conference slate came to an end for Florida State volleyball on Sunday with a 4-set loss at Auburn.

The Seminoles were defeated 20-25, 26-28, 25-16, 23-25 on Sunday afternoon. Christina Ambrose led FSU with 18 kills while Brianne Burkert finished with 28 assists and 17 digs in the loss. Brenna McIlroy finished with a match-high 20 kills to lead the Tigers in victory.

With the loss, FSU wraps up a tough non-conference slate with a record of just 4-6. FSU opens up ACC play at home on Friday against Duke.

Between the Lines

In addition to FSU volleyball, FSU men’s golf finished the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational in 10th place on Sunday. FSU men’s tennis wrapped up the Thomasville Collegiate Invite.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Monday.

News and Notes

FSU and Louisville will square off at 3:30 p.m. EST on Sept. 29 and will air on either ESPN2 or ESPNU.

The ACC will announce players of the week for various sports on Monday.
