Lead Story

Florida State will begin the year ranked 10th in the United Soccer Coaches Poll, but in the TopDrawerSoccer Poll, FSU is No. 9. Stanford topped the poll, followed by UCLA, North Carolina, Florida and Virginia.

Making the TopDrawerSoccer Best XI teams for FSU were junior forward Deyna Castellanos and Yujie Zhao, a freshman midfielder. Castellanos, an All-American last season, was named to the Best XI first-team while Zhao was named to the All-Freshman team.

As for FSU, it will look to get back to the College Cup after a 2-year hiatus. The Seminoles open the season on Thursday night at home against Vanderbilt.
