Lead Story

Florida State beach volleyball is one win away from a third national championship appearance in four years.

The fourth-seeded Seminoles started off the NCAA Tournament with 3-1 wins over No. 5 seed and 3-time defending national champion USC and top-seeded UCLA on Friday. FSU moves on to face third-seeded Hawaii at 4 p.m. EST on Saturday.

The Rainbow Warriors also went 2-0 with victories over South Carolina and Pepperdine. The winner will advance to Sunday’s final while the loser will face one of the four remaining teams with a spot in the final on the line.

South Carolina and Florida International were both eliminated on Friday. Saturday’s dual will air on ESPN2.

Between the Lines

In addition to beach volleyball, FSU softball topped NC State on Friday night, 9-1. FSU track and field wrapped up the regular season with Seminole Twilight.

On the Agenda

In addition to FSU beach volleyball, FSU softball continues its series with NC State on Saturday at 2 p.m. EST. FSU baseball visits Clemson at 6:30 p.m. EST. Both games air on ACC Network Extra.

News and Notes

FSU head coach Mike Martin surpassed legend Augie Garrido for the most wins in college baseball history on Saturday night.

FSU baseball topped Clemson in 13 innings on Saturday night, 3-2.

FSU beach volleyball topped Hawaii 3-2 on Saturday to advance to Sunday’s national championship.
