Just a freshman, Florida State men’s golf’s John Pak is among the semifinalists for one of college golf’s more prestigious awards.

Pak was among 30 in the running for the Jack Nicklaus Award, according to a release from Tuesday. The award goes to the nation’s top player.

Pak leads the Seminoles this season in scoring average, final round average, par 3 average and par 5 average. He’s ranked as the nation’s 26th best player, according to Golfstat.

Finalists will be announced on May 24. The winner will be announced on May 31.
