The Daily Nole — May 2, 2018: Warren Named ACC Softball Player of Week

Happy hump day, Florida State fans. As your day moves along, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

For the second time this season, Florida State softball third baseman Jessie Warren was named the ACC Player of the Week.

The honor is the sixth in the career of Warren, who went 8-for-16 in five games. Warren homered twice over that stretch, scored four runs, drove in seven and stole a base.

Warren is the reigning ACC Player of the Year and currently leads the ACC in slugging percentage and RBIs. Warren and the Seminoles will wrap up the regular season this weekend with three games against NC State.

News and Notes

FSU track and field senior Austin Droogsma and sophomore Shanice Love rode discus victories at the 124th Penn Relays to men’s and women’s Field Performer of the Week honors, respectively. Freshman Ka’Tia Seymour earned Track Performer of the Week honors.

Florida State freshman men’s golfer John Pak is one of 30 Division I student-athletes selected as a Jack Nicklaus Award Semifinalist.
