The Daily Nole — May 1, 2018: FSU Walk-On Jared Jackson Gets NFL Shot

Lead Story

Six former Florida State players were selected in the 2018 NFL Draft. Entering Monday, seven more had been signed as undrafted free agents, but the eighth may have come as a surprise.

Former walk-on wide receiver Jared Jackson has been signed as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Rams. Known for his play on special teams, Jackson finished his career with 19 total tackles and two receptions for 13 yards.

With Jackson being signed, the only other FSU players likely to find an NFL home are safety Nate Andrews and linebacker Ro’Derrick Hoskins. Teams can hold rookie minicamps from May 4-7.

News and Notes

The NCAA Men and Women’s Tennis Selection Shows will be held on Tuesday.

Instead of a single game, FSU baseball will play a doubleheader against Mount St. Mary’s on May 12.

FSU’s Jessie Warren was named ACC Softball Player of the Week.

FSU women’s hoops assistant Brooke Wyckoff has been promoted to associate head coach.

FSU men’s tennis will host Alabama State to open the NCAA Tournament. The women will take on North Florida in Gainesville.
