Neither the Florida State men’s and women’s tennis teams will have to travel far to kick off the NCAA Tournament, but the environment for the men will be quite a bit more hospitable.

The Seminoles earned the No. 12 national seed and will be at home for at least the first two rounds. FSU (27-4) will kick things off with Alabama State on May 11.

The winner of that match will go on to face either Tulane or Alabama. FSU is hosting a regional for the first time since 2009.

The FSU women (18-8) will have to head to Gainesville where they’ll kick things off with North Florida on May 11. The winner will move on to face either No. 9 national seed Florida or Youngstown State.

FSU did defeat Florida 4-1 when the teams met in Lake Nona on Feb. 3. The Seminoles reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament last year before falling to Auburn. The FSU men also reached the second round before falling to host TCU.
