Third-seeded Florida State men’s tennis collected an easy with over North Carolina’s arch-rivals on Friday, but in the ACC Tournament semifinals on Saturday, the Seminoles were no match for the No. 2 seed Tar Heels.

North Carolina blanked FSU, 4-0 on Saturday to advance to the ACC Championship on Sunday. FSU will have to wait until Tuesday to find out who it will face in the NCAA Tournament.

After winning the doubles point, North Carolina’s Mac Kiger and Robert Kelly collected straight sets wins over Florida State’s Chase Wood and Jose Gracia, respectively. The Tar Heels clinched the match with a Court 1 victory as William Blumberg rallied past FSU’s Aziz Dougaz, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Although the Seminoles didn’t take any of the six duels, Alex Knaff and Guy Iradukunda were in competitive third sets. North Carolina will move on to face Wake Forest on Sunday. The top-seeded Demon Deacons topped Notre Dame on Saturday, 4-0.
