Lead Story

Florida State women’s basketball guard Imani Wright had a solid showing during her final time wearing an FSU uniform, but came up just a bit short.

In the Marine’s 3-Point Championship on Thursday night, Wright reached the semifinals after making 16 triples in the first round. Wright was ultimately ousted one round short of the final as Duke’s Rebecca Greenwell and Katelynn Flaherty of Michigan reached the final with Flaherty taking home the crown.

As a senior this past season, Wright set an FSU school-record by making 103 triples. Wright was named an honorable mention All-American by the Associated Press.

Between the Lines

FSU track and field was in Texas on Thursday and took part in the Pepsi Florida Relays in Gainesville. FSU women’s tennis fell to Duke, 6-1. FSU baseball used a strong start to defeat Louisville on Thursday night at Dick Howser Stadium, 9-4.

On the Agenda

FSU beach volleyball will be in Miami to take on TCU and UCLA on Friday. FSU track and field will remain in Austin and Gainesville. FSU men’s tennis and FSU baseball will both host Louisville. FSU softball opens a 3-game series against Georgia Tech. Both games on the diamond start at 6 p.m. EST and air on ACC Network Extra.

News and Notes

Jonathan Foster’s walk-off 2-run home run lifted Florida State past Louisville on Friday night, 8-7.

Odell Haggins will be inducted into the Florida State Sports Hall of Fame.

FSU legend Peter Warrick will reportedly have his jersey retired.
