It’s the weekend, Florida State fans. As you prepare for your Easter festivities, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. We’ll update the news and notes section of this post throughout the day.

Lead Story

A pair of Florida State football greats learned that they would be honored by the university on Friday.

Odell Haggins, the defensive line coach for the Seminoles, will be inducted into the FSU Athletic Hall of Fame. A former defensive tackle, Haggins played for the Seminoles from 1985-89 and was a first-team All-American as a senior prior to a 3-year stint in the NFL.

Haggins is the longest tenured coach on staff, having served as an assistant since 1994. He went 2-0 as interim head coach for Florida State last season.

Peter Warrick, who played wide receiver from 1995-99, will have his jersey retired. Arguably the most electrifying offensive player in school history, Warrick finished his career with more than 3,500 yards receiving and accounted for 40 total touchdowns as a receiver, rusher, passer and returner.

Warrick’s most memorable performance may have been his final in garnet and gold as he accounted for 220 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns in the 2000 Sugar Bowl as FSU defeated Virginia Tech for the national championship, 46-29. Warrick was a 2-time Consensus All-American and a 1-time Unanimous All-American.
