The Daily Nole — March 24, 2018: Murray to Miss Rest of Spring Practice

Lead Story

Florida State will be without its leading returning receiver for the remainder of the spring, head coach Willie Taggart told reporters on Friday.

Nyqwan Murray, a senior, will miss the rest of spring practice with a slight meniscus tear. Murray reportedly went down Wednesday with a non-contact injury, but was able to gingerly walk off on his own power.

Murray led the Seminoles last season with 40 catches for 604 yards in 12 games. The spring wraps up with the Garnet and Gold game on April 14.

Between the Lines

FSU men’s swimming and diving continued the NCAA Championships on Friday. FSU women’s tennis beat Wake Forest 5-2 and North Carolina A&T, 5-0, while the men topped Georgia Tech, 5-2. FSU women’s golf began the Clemson Invitational. FSU track and field began the FSU Relays.

FSU softball topped Syracuse 1-0 while FSU baseball split a doubleheader with North Carolina. After losing the first game, 16-8, FSU bounced back to win the second game, 6-3, in 10 innings.

On the Agenda

FSU men’s swimming and diving wraps up the NCAA Championships on Saturday. FSU women’s golf resumes the Clemson Invitational. FSU track and field wraps up the FSU Relays. FSU softball hosts Syracuse at 1 p.m. EST on ACC Network Extra. FSU men’s basketball takes on Michigan in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.

News and Notes

FSU and North Carolina won’t resume their baseball series until Sunday.

FSU softball has now won 30 straight ACC games.

Michigan defeated Florida State in the West Region Final on Saturday night, 58-54.

FSU swimming and diving finished 21st at the NCAA Championships in Minneapolis.
