It’s Sunday, Florida State fans. As you get set to wrap up your weekend, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

The NFL all-star game known as the Pro Bowl takes place at 3 p.m. EST on Sunday and Florida State is well represented. In fact, FSU has five former players in the Pro Bowl.

Playing for the AFC team will be Oakland Raiders’ center Rodney Hudson and a pair of Jacksonville Jaguars in linebacker Telvin Smith and cornerback Jalen Ramsey. For the NFC will be Minnesota Vikings’ cornerback Xavier Rhodes and Carolina Panthers’ kicker Graham Gano.

The contest will happen in Orlando and air on ESPN. No former FSU player has ever been named the MVP of the Pro Bowl.

Between the Lines

FSU track and field wrapped up the Razorback Invitational on Saturday. FSU men’s tennis blanked Purdue 4-0 while the women fell to Vanderbilt, 4-1. FSU swimming and diving handled Florida Atlantic. FSU basketball defeated Miami in overtime, 103-94.

On the Agenda

FSU men’s tennis wraps up the ITA Kickoff against Baylor. FSU women’s basketball hosts No. 5 Notre Dame in a contest that begins at 4 p.m. EST and airs on ESPN2.

News and Notes

FSU safety Nate Andrews recorded two tackles for the South in Saturday’s Senior Bowl.

FSU has flipped 4-star linebacker Xavier Peters from Kentucky, according to reports.

FSU has landed the commitment of 4-star defensive tackle Dennis Briggs.
