It’s Sunday, Florida State fans. As you wrap up your weekend and maybe enjoy some NFL football, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Three Florida State players were on the East roster for Saturday’s East West Shrine Game in St. Petersburg.

Unfortunately, linebacker Matthew Thomas was injured and unable to play. Safety Trey Marshall and linebacker Jacob Pugh each played in the contest as the West defeated the East, 14-10.

Although Thomas was unable to go, he did have multiple practices to try to impress NFL scouts. The NFL Draft takes place in Dallas from April 26-28.

Between the Lines

FSU basketball defeated Virginia Tech on Saturday, 91-82. FSU men’s tennis defeated both Florida Gulf Coast and East Tennessee State. FSU track and field wrapped up the Larry Wieczorek Invitational. FSU swimming and diving was defeated at home against Notre Dame.

On the Agenda

FSU women’s tennis will be at Illinois on Sunday. FSU women’s hoops will be at Louisville in a contest that airs at 5 p.m. EST on ESPN2.

News and Notes

M.J. Walker scored a career-high 24 points in FSU’s victory over Virginia Tech on Saturday.
