Lead Story

It was reported prior to Jimbo Fisher leaving that Florida State offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Randy Sanders would not return to Tallahassee in 2018. We now know where he is going.

According to a report from Football Scoop, Sanders will become the new head coach at East Tennessee State. The Buccaneers’ FCS football program had been defunct for 11 years from 2004-14, but returned in 2015. They haven’t had a winning season since 2001.

Sanders has familiarity with the area, having played at Tennessee from 1984-88 and coached there from 1989-2005. After a 7-year stint at Kentucky, Sanders had been at Florida State since 2013.

Between the Lines

FSU men’s basketball suffered its first loss on the season on Saturday, falling to Oklahoma State in the Orange Bowl Classic, 71-70.

On the Agenda

FSU women’s hoops will be at Texas at 12:30 p.m. EST on Sunday. The contest airs on Fox Sports 1.
