It’s Thursday, Florida State fans. As your weekend approaches, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

The College Football Playoff rankings were unveiled Tuesday night and the top 3 teams in the poll were ones Florida State is familiar with.

The Seminoles have faced each of the top 3 teams in the poll in No. 1 Alabama, second-ranked Clemson and No. 3 Miami. This season has been a disaster for FSU, but not because of a lack of competition.

Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech are the only other schools to have faced two of the top 3, although Auburn will be able to make that claim when it hosts Alabama next weekend. FSU will get a break from its difficult slate this week when it faces Delaware State.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Wednesday.

On the Agenda

FSU swimming and diving will begin the Georgia Tech Invite on Thursday.

News and Notes

4-star wide receiver Josh Moore has scheduled an official visit to Florida State.
