The Daily Nole — Nov. 9, 2017: Patrick to Return for Clemson

It’s Thursday, Florida State fans, which means we’re just two days from the weekend. As the day rolls on, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. We’ll update the news and notes section of this post throughout the day.

Lead Story

The thunder will be back in Florida State’s “thunder and lightning” duo at running back on Saturday as junior Jacques Patrick returns to the lineup less than three weeks after having knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus.

According to the Tallahassee Democrat, Patrick was initially told that he would be out for four to six months. Patrick underwent successful surgery following a 31-28 loss to Louisville on Oct. 21.

In Patrick’s absence, freshman Cam Akers has been carrying the load for FSU on the ground. Patrick has 434 yards rushing and a touchdown this season while averaging a team-high 5.7 yards per carry.

FSU women’s hoops forward Shakayla Thomas has been named to the Cheryl Miller Award watch list, which annually goes to the nation’s top small forward.
