The Daily Nole — Sept. 22, 2017: FSU Soccer Tops Louisville

It’s Friday, Florida State fans. That means that we’re just one day away from the long-awaited return of FSU football. In the meantime, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics as we update the news and notes section throughout the day.

Lead Story

After dropping its ACC opener to North Carolina over the weekend, Florida State soccer got back on track Thursday night with a 2-1 victory at Louisville.

Dallas Dorosy and Deyna Castellanos each scored first half goals for the Seminoles while Gabby Carle added an assist. Louisville’s lone goal came from Emina Ekic in the 70th minute, but that was not enough.

With the win, FSU improves to 6-2 on the year and evens its record in ACC play at 1-1. The Seminoles will be back in action on Sunday at Virginia Tech.

Between the Lines

FSU soccer was the only scheduled athletic event for Thursday.

On the Agenda

FSU’s men’s tennis team will compete in the University of Alabama Tournament on Friday. The women will be in Greenville, South Carolina for the Debbie Southern Fall Classic. FSU volleyball will host Virginia at 7 p.m. EST on ACC Network Extra.

FSU is now a 12.5-point favorite over N.C. State for Saturday.
