Lead Story

Florida State redshirt junior tight end Mavin Saunders is hoping for a big year on the field, but has been recognized for his work off of it.

Saunders is one of 11 FBS players to be named to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, according to a release. Saunders earned the distinction for volunteering his time to Riley Elementary School in Tallahassee.

Saunders becomes the sixth FSU player to be recognized, joining Corey Fuller (1994), Wayne Messam (1995), Sam Cowart (1996), Christian Ponder (2010) and current teammate Alec Eberle (2016). On the field, Saunders finished with 10 catches for 182 yards last season.
