Florida State quarterback Deondre Francois’ season may have come to an unfortunate end on Saturday night, but he did receive a bit of good news on Tuesday.

According to a report from the Orlando Sentinel, Francois underwent successful surgery to repair a torn patella tendon. Francois suffered the injury on a sack by Alabama safety Ronnie Harrison late in the fourth quarter of the Seminoles’ 24-7 loss on Saturday.

According to the report, the time frame for Francois’ return is seven to eight months, which means he could return in time for spring practice. True freshman James Blackman will make his first career start for the Seminoles on Saturday against Louisiana-Monroe.

Between the Lines

Florida State women’s golf wrapped up the Ocean Course Invitation on Tuesday in second place. The Seminoles finished three strokes behind winner, N.C. State.

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Wednesday.
