It’s Tuesday, Florida State fans. For those of you returning to work after a long Labor Day weekend, we have you covered. Keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

According to a report from the Orlando Sentinel, Florida State is closely tracking Hurricane Irma to decide if plans need to be altered for Saturday’s football contest with Louisiana-Monroe.

The hurricane is currently out in the Caribbean and has been strengthened to a Category 5. At this point, Saturday’s home opener against the Warhawks does not look like it will be affected, but that is subject to change.

The contest is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST. Florida State hasn’t had a game moved for weather since 2004 when the season-opener against Miami was pushed back from Labor Day to a Friday night.

Between the Lines

FSU women’s golf finished the first day of the Ocean Course Invitational in South Carolina in second place at even par. The Seminoles are one stroke back of first place Ole Miss.

On the Agenda
