Monday has come and gone, and it brought some interesting news for Florida State football. Keep it here for the latest updates in FSU athletics.

Lead Story

Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher held a press conference Monday afternoon and spoke about a number of topics related to the football team.

The first bits of news were updates on various players. Fisher said that he was expecting Matthew Thomas to practice with the team yesterday, but some beat writers are reporting that Thomas was not seen walking out of practice with teammates. Fisher added that linebacker Dontavious Jackson was still out due to an unspecified injury.

The press conference also brought the first depth chart of the preseason. Injured players were not listed, and it was only a 2-deep chart. Still, it provides interesting insight on how the team will approach the upcoming Alabama game on Saturday. Scroll down to “What You May Have Missed” to see our article on the subject.

Between the Lines

There were no athletic events scheduled for Monday.

On the Agenda

No athletic events are scheduled for Tuesday.

News and Notes

Andrew Miller of Tomahawk Nation also added that Auden Tate was seen leaving practice early. It is unclear what type of injury (if any) he may have sustained.

Florida State athletics closed practice to the media Tuesday, and the email they sent out suggests that it will not be open for most of the week. It is unclear if this will be the standard for the rest of the season, or if it just for this week.
