The first Florida State athletic event of the new academic year gets underway on Friday night as FSU soccer hosts UNC-Greensboro.

Florida State finished 14-4-4 last season with a loss to Utah in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Seminoles return key pieces, including Megan Connolly, Deyna Castellanos, Natalia Nuikka and Cassie Miller.

UNC-Greensboro finished 7-11-2 last season, but returns leading goal scorer, Melanie Spensiero. Friday’s contest begins at 7 p.m. EST.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Thursday.

On the Agenda

FSU soccer’s opener is the only scheduled event for Friday.

FSU football is slated to play the nation’s toughest schedule, according to CBS Sports.
