The Daily Nole — Aug. 9, 2017: Three Noles Named to MAC Hermann Watch List

Lead Story

Florida State had more players named to the preseason MAC Hermann Trophy watch list than any other school in women’s college soccer on Tuesday. The MAC Hermann Trophy is the most prestigious individual honor in the sport.

Making the watch list for FSU was senior goalie Cassie Miller, junior defender Natalia Kuikka and sophomore forward Deyna Castellanos. In total, 30 players were named to the watch list.

Miller finished with 58 saves and only nine goals allowed in 22 games last season. Catellanos was tied for the team-lead for goals with seven while Kuikka was tied for the team-lead with five assists.

FSU opens the season on Aug. 18 against UNC-Greensboro. The MAC Hermann Trophy will be presented by the Missouri Athletic Club on Jan. 5.
