The Daily Nole — June 24, 2017: Rathan-Mayes Signs Summer League Deal with Knicks

Lead Story

After going undrafted on Thursday night, former Florida State guard Xavier Rathan-Mayes has found an NBA home.

The Seminoles’ leading assist man in each of the last three years has signed a Summer League deal with the New York Knicks and will look to showcase his talents. Teammates Jonathan Isaac and Dwayne Bacon were each drafted on Thursday by the Orlando Magic and New Orleans Pelicans, respectively. Bacon’s rights were traded to the Charlotte Hornets.

Rathan-Mayes averaged 10.6 points per game last season and 4.8 assists. In the process, he became more efficient from the floor and more polished as a defender.
