It’s Sunday, Florida State fans. As your weekend winds down, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

A free Tallahassee camp that hosted 200 middle school aged children, according to reports, got to interact with a larger than life figure on Saturday afternoon.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ quarterback and former Heisman Trophy winner for FSU, Jameis Winston was at the Elite Championship Camp on Florida State’s campus on Saturday. Winston, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, is a close friend of Richard Terrell Rabb who organized the free camp. Winston worked with the children on a number of things and gave a short, but impassioned speech.

While at FSU, Winston was a lighting rod when it came to scrutiny, but seems to have cleaned up his image. Since going pro, Winston has largely managed to steer clear of controversy and has been actively involved in the community and with the youth.

Between the Lines

FSU track and field participated in the USATF National Championships on Saturday.
