The Daily Nole — June 20, 2017: FSU to Face LSU in Next CWS Elimination Game

It’s Tuesday, Florida State fans. As the week carries on, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Florida State’s stay in Omaha started off with a heartbreaking 5-4 loss to No. 4 national seed LSU. The Seminoles learned on Monday however, that they will have a shot at revenge.

After defeating Cal State Fullerton in the first elimination game of the College World Series, FSU watched LSU lose to No. 1 national seed Oregon State, 13-1. The loss snapped a 17-game winning streak for the Tigers.

LSU has not lost consecutive games since April 23 and 25. FSU will try to change that when the teams meet at 7 p.m. EST on Wednesday night.

Between the Lines

FSU extended its baseball season on Monday with a 6-4 win over Cal State Fullerton in the first College World Series elimination game.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Tuesday.

News and Notes

5-star Alabama prospect Justyn Ross narrowed his list of schools down to five. FSU made the cut along with Alabama, Auburn, Clemson and Florida.

FSU defensive tackle Marvin Wilson will wear No. 21 as a freshman.

FSU baseball will start either Cole Sands or Andrew Karp against LSU in a College World Series elimination game on Wednesday.
