In about a 1-hour span, two Daytona Beach Mainland prospects pledged their services to Florida State.

About an hour after 3-star safety Johnathan Huggins committed to the Seminoles, 3-star wide receiver D’Marcus Adams did likewise Wednesday night. A recent report from the Tallahassee Democrat however, said that FSU does not consider Huggins a commitment at this time.

Whereas Huggins would have been the first safety to commit to Florida State for 2018, Adams is the first wide receiver. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Adams is the No. 180 overall player at his position and a top-1,200 recruit nationally.

Listed at 6-0 and 170 pounds, the addition of Adams does not move the needle quite enough for FSU to move up from seventh nationally, per the Composite. Adding both Adams and Huggins would have moved the Seminoles up to sixth.
