The first day of Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher’s football camp will bear fruit.

On Wednesday, 3-star safety Johnathan Huggins pledged his services to the Seminoles, according to reports. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Huggins is the No. 114 safety in the country for 2018 and the 223rd best player in Florida.

Huggins has good size at 6-2 and about 200 pounds. Huggins had offers from a number of other schools, including UCF, South Florida and Virginia Tech.

Huggins hails from Mainland High School in Daytona Beach. That’s where Cyrus Fagan, a 2017 FSU safety signee, played his high school ball.

Huggins is the 11th member of FSU’s 2018 class and the lowest ranked pledge, per the composite. He’s also the only committed safety for 2018. Despite the addition of Huggins, the class remains ranked seventh nationally and second in the ACC.

UPDATE: According to a report from the Tallahassee Democrat, Huggins is not considered to be a commitment at this time. He will have the opportunity to commit at a later date.
