M.J. Walker Picks Florida State

In a move that will come as a surprise to many people, 4-star guard M.J. Walker pledged his services to Florida State on Wednesday morning.

Walker picked the Seminoles over UCLA, Virginia Tech, Ohio State and Georgia Tech. Most predicted that Walker would end up either with the Bruins or the Hokies.

Walker serves as a huge get for FSU and the top prospect committed to the 2017 class. Walker is ranked as the No. 26 overall prospect for 2017, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings and the No. 4 shooting guard.

Walker is the sixth member of the class — three of which have enrolled — and the second blue chip prospect. Walker is listed at 6-5 and 205 pounds.

FSU entered the day with a class that ranked 25th nationally and sixth in the ACC, per the composite. The addition of Walker gives the Seminoles the No. 12 overall class and the fourth best in the conference.
