It’s Sunday, Florida State fans. As your weekend winds down, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Florida State’s women’s golf team will have 18 fewer holes to make up an 11-stroke deficit.

That’s because the second round of the NCAA Championships was canceled on Saturday. The Seminoles are currently tied for 19th place at +37.

The top eight teams after four rounds were set to advance to match play, but that has been reduced to three rounds, thanks to weather wiping the second round out in Illinois. Currently sitting in eighth place is North Carolina at +26. Northwestern leads the NCAA Championships through one round.

The NCAA Championships are set to resume on Sunday.

Between the Lines

Golf wasn’t the only event canceled on Saturday as FSU baseball’s regular season finale with Louisville was also halted by weather. FSU softball defeated Georgia to move within one win of the Super Regionals, 7-1.

On the Agenda

In addition to golf, FSU softball will take on Georgia in the Tallahassee Regional. That contest begins at noon EST and airs on ESPN.

News and Notes

Florida State’s first ACC Tournament game comes Wednesday against Notre Dame. The Seminoles face Louisville on Friday.

FSU softball notched a fifth straight Super Regional trip with an 8-5 win over Georgia on Sunday.
