The Daily Nole — April 21, 2017: Experts Have FSU Bound for Lexington

Happy Friday, Florida State fans. For those of you ending your work week, we’ll try to get you through it. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Prognostications have Florida State currently in the NCAA Baseball Tournament and the destination seems to be Lexington.

In the D1Baseball.com bracket released Wednesday, the Seminoles are the No. 2 seed in Lexington, joined by top seed Kentucky, third-seeded Washington and the No. 4 seed Kent State. In the Baseball America bracket, also released Wednesday, the Seminoles are the No. 3 seed with Michigan holding the second seed. The first and fourth seeds remain the same.

For the year, FSU is 24-15. Florida State has won three straight and will open at 3-game series at Miami on Friday.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Thursday.

On the Agenda

FSU beach volleyball takes on UNC-Wilmington and Tulane in the CCSA Tournament. The FSU track and field team will be at Stanford for the Cardinal Classic. FSU men’s golf opens the ACC Championships in Clinton, South Carolina. FSU women’s tennis visits Virginia while the men host Virginia Tech at 5:30 p.m. EST on ACC Network Extra. FSU baseball opens a 3-game series at Miami at 7 p.m. EST on ACC Network Extra.

FSU beach volleyball defeated UNC-Wilmington and Tulane by 5-0 scores to open the CCSA Tournament.

Florida State won its fourth straight game with a 6-3 win over Miami in Coral Gables on Friday night.
