For the first time in two weeks, Florida State is above .500 in ACC play. The Seminoles strung together some late runs Friday night, thanks largely to Dylan Busby to beat Miami in the first of three games in Coral Gables, 6-3.

The Good: Florida State’s streak of consecutive games with at least seven runs came to a close, but six runs and 10 hits against a very good Miami pitching staff is still a stellar night. For the second straight game, FSU did not commit an error.

The Bad: Despite both starting pitchers being solid for most of the night, neither put forward a quality start. FSU’s Cole Sands was pulled after running into trouble in the fifth while Miami starter Jeb Bargfeldt gave up four runs in the fifth and one more in the sixth after being outstanding through three innings.

The Ugly: The top third of the order for Miami was dreadful as the Hurricanes’ No. 1, 2 and 3-hitters were a combined 0-for-12 with six strikeouts.

Studs of the Game: FSU third baseman Dylan Busby continues to be on a tear. Busby went 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Busby’s 3-run home run in the fifth inning put FSU ahead for good. Drew Mendoza was 2-for-4 with a double and a run for FSU. Romy Gonzalez had a solo homer for the Hurricanes.

Duds of the Game: Randy Batista and James Davison were a combined 0-for-9 at the plate with five total strikeouts.
