It’s Tuesday, Florida State fans. Before you get a chance to enjoy the FSU baseball and basketball road contests, get up to date on the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

The focus may be on the 2018 recruiting class for Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher and company, but the Seminoles have already started building for 2019.

According to a report from the Tallahassee Democrat on Monday, the Seminoles have landed 2019 defensive end Quashon Fuller. A 6-3, 240-pound prospect from South Fort Myers High School, Fuller joins fellow defensive end Mike Morris, a 4-star prospect, as the only two commitments for FSU’s 2019 class.

Fuller has not yet been rated by the 247Sports Composite rankings. According to the Composite, FSU currently has the No. 8 overall class for 2019 and the No. 5 overall class for 2018.

Between the Lines

FSU competed in the ACC swimming and diving championships on Monday. FSU women’s golf is in first place at The Dickinson in Texas after two rounds of play. The men’s team is currently in eighth place at the Querencia Cabo Collegiate in Mexico.

On the Agenda

Both the FSU men’s and women’s golf teams will wrap up tournaments in Mexico and Texas, respectively on Tuesday. The FSU swimming and diving teams will continue to compete in the ACC Championships. FSU baseball will visit Jacksonville at 5 p.m. EST in a contest that airs on ESPN3. FSU’s men’s basketball team will visit Duke. The game begins at 7 p.m. EST and airs on ESPN.

FSU women’s basketball stars Shakayla Thomas and Leticia Romero were each named first-team All-ACC on Tuesday.

FSU baseball scored three runs in the eighth inning to defeat Jacksonville on Tuesday night, 6-5.

A second half rally from No. 15 FSU proved to be too little, too late as the Seminoles fell at Duke on Tuesday night, 75-70.
