Happy hump day, Florida State fans. The agenda is pretty light, but we’ll update you on what you need to know. The news and notes section will be updated as news breaks throughout the day.

Lead Story

For the first time in program history, Florida State has the No. 1 softball team in the land.

The Seminoles came in atop the NFCA/USA Today Poll. The new poll came on the same day that pitcher Jessica Burroughs was named National Pitcher of the Week.

FSU is off to a 10-0 start this season following a perfect slate in the Big Ten/ACC Softball Challenge. FSU’s contest with South Alabama was rained out Tuesday. The Seminoles now head to California for the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, where they’ll face four ranked teams in six games, beginning with No. 18 Texas A&M on Thursday.

Between the Lines

FSU women’s tennis fell to Miami 4-1, but bounced back to blank Florida Atlantic, 4-0. The FSU baseball team gave up four runs in the ninth inning in a 4-2 loss to South Florida.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Wednesday.

News and Notes

FSU softball’s Jessica Burroughs was named Division I Pitcher of the Week.

The start time for the April 2 baseball contest between FSU and North Carolina has been moved from 1 p.m. EST to 12:30 p.m. EST.
