It’s Thursday, Florida State fans and it’s a pretty busy one. We’ll update the news and notes section to keep you up on the latest in FSU athletics.

Lead Story

Florida State’s top-ranked softball kicks off a 6-game tournament out in California on Thursday night as the Seminoles take on No. 18 Texas A&M at 8:30 p.m. EST in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.

The Aggies are one of four ranked teams that FSU will face over the next four days. Florida State also faces Stanford at 11 p.m. EST on Thursday night, San Diego State on Friday, No. 9 Arizona on Saturday and then two teams — No. 6 UCLA and No. 14 Michigan — that the Seminoles eliminated from the Women’s College World Series last year.

FSU is off to a 10-0 start this season, but this will be its first time playing away from Tallahassee. Earlier this week, the program ascended to its first No. 1 national ranking ever. All games from the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic will stream on FloSoftball Live.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Wednesday.

On the Agenda

In addition to softball, the FSU track and field teams will be in South Bend for the ACC Championships. The FSU women’s basketball team hosts Pittsburgh on Senior Day at 7 p.m. EST on ACC Network Extra.

News and Notes

Three FSU athletes will receive Postgraduate Scholarships.

FSU ace Drew Carlton will move to the bullpen and serve as the team’s closer for this weekend’s series against Samford.
