It’s Sunday, Florida State fans. While it won’t be as big a day as Saturday was, there is still a lot going on. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

The Unconquered Invitational in Tallahassee wraps up on Sunday for Florida State softball with the tournament’s championship game against Marshall at 12:30 p.m. EST.

The Seminoles are 4-0 so far in the invitational, but the team that played them the closest happened to be Marshall. In the first meeting between the teams on Saturday, FSU grinded out a 1-0 win, thanks to a complete-game shutout from pitcher Meghan King.

The other victories for FSU during the 3-day tournament have come over Lipscomb and twice over Furman — once Friday and once Saturday. King has yet to give up an earned run for FSU in two starts. Third baseman Jessica Warren has powered the offense with a .400 average, three home runs and seven RBIs.

Between the Lines

Aside from the two softball victories on Saturday, FSU’s men’s tennis team defeated both George Washington and College of Charleston by 4-0 margins. The FSU women’s golf team is currently in first at the Florida State Match-up. Gleneve Grange broke the FSU shot put record at the Tyson Invitational in Arkansas on Saturday. The FSU men’s basketball team was defeated by Notre Dame, 84-72.

On the Agenda

In addition to softball, the FSU women’s golf team wraps up the Florida State Match-up.

News and Notes

Florida State has offered a scholarship to Kayvon Thibodeaux, a 5-star defensive end and the No. 1 overall prospect for 2019.
