National Signing Day hasn’t been all it could have for Florida State, but the Seminoles won’t be walking away with just one new addition.

3-star Deonte Sheffield, out of Niceville, picked FSU over Georgia Southern late Wednesday morning, giving the Seminoles a fourth running back for the class. Sheffield joins a pair of 5-stars in Cam Akers and Khalan Laborn and a 4-star prospect in Zaquandre White.

Sheffield is ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 1,188 overall player for 2017 and the 65th best running back. Sheffield is the 23rd member of FSU’s 2017 class.

Sheffield wasn’t really on the FSU radar for most entering the day. He joins 4-star linebacker Leonard Warner among National Signing Day additions for the Seminoles. FSU’s class currently ranks fifth nationally.
