Happy hump day, Florida State fans. Before you get ready to sit down and watch the big basketball game, stay up to date on the latest in FSU athletics by scoping out the news and notes section, which will be updated as the day goes on.

Lead Story

Former Florida State quarterback Malik Henry has found a new school. On Tuesday, 247Sports’ Josh Newberg reported that Henry will enroll at Independence Community College in Kansas.

Once a 5-star prospect, things never seemed to click for Henry at Florida State. After a stellar spring game last year in which he finished 15-for-22 passing for 205 yards and a pair of touchdown passes, he was suspended indefinitely prior to the season for a violation of team rules.

Henry was later reinstated, but was away from the team for the final month of the season. Henry will receive a redshirt for the one season spent in Tallahassee and will have three remaining years of eligibility to play at his next FBS school.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Tuesday.

On the Agenda

No. 10 Florida State will host 15th-ranked Notre Dame in men’s basketball on Wednesday night. Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST. The contest will air on the Raycom Sports Network.

News and Notes

Former FSU guard Kareem Are will miss Saturday’s East-West Shrine game with an unknown injury. That leaves receiver Kermit Whitfield as the only FSU alum to appear in the contest.

FSU will visit running back commit Zaquandre White on Wednesday.

Florida State’s women’s swimming and diving team is ranked 24th in the CSCAA Poll and 20th in the Collegeswimming.com Poll. The men’s team is ranked 19th in the CSCAA Poll and 17th in the Collegeswimming.com Poll.

FSU running back commitment Khalan Laborn is now a 5-star prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
