It’s Thursday, Florida State fans. Athletic events will start to pick up and we’ll keep you up to date on the latest by updating the news and notes section throughout the day.

Lead Story

Florida State fullback Freddie Stevenson will get a chance to show off his skills for NFL teams. Stevenson tweeted on Wednesday that he had been invited to the NFL Combine from Feb. 28 to March 6.

A 3-year starter, Stevenson finished his senior year with 90 yards rushing and four touchdowns. Stevenson also caught a 6-yard touchdown pass.

Throughout his career, Stevenson shined as a blocking back for the likes of Dalvin Cook, Karlos Williams and Jacques Patrick. Fullbacks in NFL offenses however, are becoming less and less common with few teams carrying more than one.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Wednesday.

On the Agenda

FSU women’s basketball will visit North Carolina at 7 p.m. EST. The game will air on ACC Network Extra.

News and Notes

Florida State running back Dalvin Cook set an ACC record for rushing yards per game, surpassing for North Carolina running back Giovani Bernard.

Florida State will open the 2020 season in Atlanta against West Virginia. The contest will be held on Sept. 5 and air on ESPN.
