It’s Friday, Florida State fans. Many of you are just one day away from enjoying the weekend and we’ll help get you there by updating the news and notes section throughout the day.

Lead Story

After being upset at home by N.C. State earlier in the week, the Florida State women’s basketball team bounced back in a big way on Thursday with a 90-77 win over North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

The Seminoles started strong, racing to a 26-17 lead after a quarter before extending the advantage to 10 at halftime. FSU led by as many as 19 points in the third period before cruising to victory.

Imani Wright finished with 22 points to lead FSU. Ivey Slaughter and Leticia Romero added 16 and 14 points respectively in the win. Chatrice White had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Stephanie Watts led four North Carolina players in double-figures with 19 points.

With the victory, FSU improved to 14-2 and 2-1 in ACC play. The Seminoles will be in action again on Sunday at home against Duke.

Between the Lines

The FSU women’s basketball game was the only athletic event scheduled for Thursday.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Friday.

News and Notes

FSU is still alive for the services of 2018 5-star defensive end Xavier Thomas. The South Carolina star is ranked as the No. 2 overall prospect for 2018, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
