Good day, Florida State fans. It appears to be another relatively slow one, but we’ll keep up to date on the latest by updating the news and notes section.

Lead Story

Like the Florida State men, the FSU women’s basketball team will begin conference play red-hot. The FSU women picked up their 11th straight win on Wednesday night, hammering Mercer, 83-40.

Mercer shot just 25 percent for the night and turned it over 13 times against the Seminoles’ suffocating defense. FSU on the other hand, shot 52 percent and nearly 65 percent from inside the 3-point arc.

Leticia Romero led the Seminoles with 17 points while Ivey Slaughter had another double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Kahlia Lawrence led the Bears with 16.

With the victory, FSU improves to 12-1. The Seminoles open ACC play at Miami on Dec. 29.

Between the Lines

The FSU women’s basketball contest with Mercer was the only scheduled athletic event.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Thursday.
