Happy Friday, Florida State fans. We’re only one day from the Seminoles taking the field against Clemson, but there is plenty to report leading up to it. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Safety Derwin James won’t be the only Florida State player wearing No. 3 who will miss Saturday’s contest against the third-ranked Clemson Tigers.

It was learned on Thursday that senior receiver Jesus “Bobo” Wilson will also be out for the prime time contest. Wilson injured his foot in the first half of FSU’s 17-6 victory over Wake Forest on Oct. 15.

Wilson ranks second for FSU this season with 30 catches for 390 yards receiving. Wilson is also among the nation’s leaders in punt return average. Wilson has two total touchdowns this season — one receiving and one on a punt return. Wilson caught three passes for 27 yards in last season’s loss to the Tigers.

Between the Lines

FSU soccer fell in the regular season finale at North Carolina on Thursday night, 1-0. The lone goal of the night was scored by the Tar Heels’ Madison Schultz. In an exhibition, FSU’s men’s basketball team defeated Southeastern 119-58.

On the Agenda

Florida State’s cross country teams will participate in the ACC Championships in Cary, North Carolina. The FSU softball team will play a scrimmage before taking on Thomas University in an exhibition. Florida State volleyball will visit Louisville. That contest begins at 6 p.m. EST and can be seen on ESPNU.

News and Notes

Florida State women’s basketball was ranked 12th in the preseason USA Today Coaches Poll.
