We started a series early in July where we let our readers choose the most thrilling Florida State victory of all-time. The only criteria for a game to make the list was that it was decided in the final five minutes. From there, it was up to you to decide what most thrilling meant.
16 classic FSU football victories were seeded from 1-16, allowing you to pick which one was the most thrilling each day. When all was said and done, you chose the second-seeded 2014 BCS National Championship. That 34-31 victory over Auburn claimed the championship on Thursday by receiving 90 percent of the vote to top the No. 1 seed, the 1994 Orange Bowl.
It’s hard to argue with your pick. The 2014 BCS National Championship resulted not only in the first national championship for Florida State in 14 years, but it was the largest comeback in BCS championship history as the Seminoles overcame an early 21-3 deficit. The final 4:31 saw three lead changes and was capped with Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston’s 2-yard touchdown pass to Kelvin Benjamin to give the Seminoles the victory.
