Three Florida State players were honored on Monday as Baseball America and Perfect Game released its All-American teams.

Catcher Cal Raleigh and pitcher/outfielder Tyler Holton were each honored as Freshman All-Americans by Baseball American while shortstop Taylor Walls was named an Honorable Mention All-American by Perfect Game.

A North Carolina native, Raleigh hit .301 in his first season with the Seminoles with 10 home runs and 50 RBIs while playing in each of FSU’s 63 games, including 62 starts. Raleigh was honored as the first-team catcher.

Holton was best known for his work on the mound, going 3-4 with a respectable 2.79 ERA in 18 appearances, including 10 starts, but was recognized as a second-team utility player on the All-Freshman team. At the plate, Holton hit .214 with a pair of home runs and 7 RBIs in 28 at-bats.

Walls was previously honored as a first-team All-American by Baseball America, but had to settle for Honorable Mention on Monday with Perfect Game. Walls served as FSU’s table-setter for 2016, hitting .355 with 6 home runs and 46 RBIs while scoring a team-high 72 runs and posting a .479 on-base percentage.

Each of the three players honored on Monday are expected to be back in an FSU uniform next season. With a young roster, the Seminoles went 41-22 this past season before being defeated by No. 1 Florida in three games in the NCAA Super Regionals.
