It’s Sunday, Florida State fans. As you enjoy what’s left of your weekend, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Florida State may be bowl-eligible for a 36th straight season, but one key member of the defense hasn’t committed to playing in that contest.

According to a report from ESPN, redshirt sophomore Derwin James hasn’t thought about whether or not he will play for the Seminoles in a bowl. James is expected to go very high in the 2018 NFL Draft.

“I’m just happy to be able to go to a bowl game, but that decision’s coming,” James told ESPN. “We’ll see.”

James finished with a game-high 12 tackles for FSU in Saturday’s 42-10 win over Louisiana-Monroe and ranks second on the team behind only linebacker Matthew Thomas with 84 tackles for the year. James also has 5.5 tackles for loss and leads FSU with two interception and 11 pass break-ups.

Between the Lines

FSU football defeated Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday 42-10 to become bowl-eligible for a 36th straight season.

On the Agenda

FSU women’s basketball will be at James Madison in a contest that starts at 2 p.m. EST on Sunday.
