Lead Story

After a legendary career, Florida State soccer midfielder Jaelin Howell has a new home.

The All-American was selected No. 2 overall by Louisville FC in the 2022 National Women’s Soccer League on Saturday. She was selected behind only Stanford’s Naomi Girma.

A 2-time All-American and 3-time first-team All-ACC selection, Howell finished her FSU career with 42 total points, including 14 goals. As a junior, Howell won the MAC Hermann Trophy, which annually goes to the nation’s top player.

Howell is again a finalist for the award. She was a key piece to FSU’s national championship teams in 2018 and 2021.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Monday. With the postponement of FSU’s hoops contest with North Florida, there were no athletic events scheduled for Tuesday.
